What Makes Lawyers Happy? (Part 2)

As a follow up to yesterday’s post on the “What Makes Lawyers Happy?” study, the National Jurist published its own list of the “10 Best Law Jobs.”  

It is unclear where the data comes from to support the National Jurist list, and it does not appear to have the scientific rigor and stated methodology used in FSU Prof. Krieger’s “What Makes Lawyers Happy?” study.  Nevertheless, it is interesting food for thought.

Personally, I would place much less significance on the National Jurist list (below) than I would from the information in Prof. Krieger’s study (yesterday’s post), but it is interesting that BigLaw did not make National Jurist’s list either.  Here is the National Jurist list of the 10 best legal careers:

2.  Law Professor

3.  Civil Legal Services

4.  Mediator/Arbitration

5.  Government Attorneys: Non-Litigation

6.  Solo General Practice

7.  Lobbyist

8.  In-House Counsel

9.  Government Prosecutor

10. Public Defender
