ScoreItUp’s “average score increase” was consistently excellent–even when using more inclusive data than competitors. I will gladly share detailed results with you.* However, ScoreItUp does not publish averages because they are inherently misleading–see below for the reasons why.

Factors Other Than Average Score Increases
ScoreItUp does not recommend that students give any weight to the “average score increases” that some LSAT prep companies choose to publish. Here are the factors ScoreItUp does consider important:
- Your instructor. You know how important a professor is to a college course. LSAT Prep is no different!
- Course methodology. The structure of class lessons and homework is important. Here is a detailed overview of ScoreItUp live courses with Mark.
Dedicated ScoreItUp students have often seen double-digit score increases (sometimes 20-30 LSAT points or more) and say ScoreItUp was indispensable to their LSAT success.
Why “Average Score Increases” Are Untrustworthy
“Average score increases” (and their fine print) are misleading and should be viewed with skepticism. Here’s why:
- Most students are excluded from the “averages” that companies typically publish due to strict attendance/homework/exam requirements.
- Additional students often are not counted by companies if their starting score is high.
- The “average” often comes from pre-2024 versions of the LSAT, including Logic Games.
- The “average” does not include official LSAT scores – they are based on mock/practice LSAT scores.
- The “average” typically compares first-to-best practice LSAT scores.
Finally, student LSAT score increases differ significantly, and “averages” tend to mask that.
Analogy: If a company published an “average salary” based on only a few carefully selected high-earners, while excluding most of its lower-paid workers, would you put any trust in that “average”?
